Rear Window Brake lights out

Help! My 04 TSXs rear window brake light is out. I'm not sure if its a fuse or just the lights. Does anyone know if the lights are serial or parallel? I don't want to buy new light bulbs if this is a known issue and if its a fuse or wiring problem. Anyone? Thanks

It's probably just a blown bulb. In the trunk right under the light socket. Just give it a quarter turn and it'll drop right out. No tools required.

You can use one of the mono filament tail light bulbs (that's still operational) to check if it's a blown rear center bulb. Simply remove it from one of the tail lights, and insert to the rear center, apply the brake, and look at your rearview mirror. If you see a glow of rear around the rear center housing, then you have confirmed it was a blown bulb.
You can find replacement bulbs at Pep Boys.

Edit: the periphery of the rear center housing glow red as you apply the brake pedal in the dark, like in the garage.
