Exclamation rear wheel bearings

Just an FYI...

Anyone have problems with a whining noise coming from the rear of the car, or get to the point where it sounds like a Cessna is following overhead? I took it in and both rear wheel bearings were bad and had to be replaced. Anyone else have this problem?

I wonder if it is a problem associated with the TSX being in it's first year of production?

Well, I haven't had this problem, but this also isn't the first year of the TSX. Remember, it is the JDM Accord which has been around for a little while.

Must have been a bad set or something interferred with them (too much weight in the rear, someone e-braked the car in, etc).

Good luck.

It just happes sometimes. My 2000 Accord had that happen in the first month when I bought it new, and that body style had been out for 2 years already.

Were they OEM wheels on the car? If so, I've never heard of this happening. I guess it's a case of bad luck.

Yeah, it still has the original wheels and the car only had 24 miles in it when I picked it up. However, I haven't had any trouble with it since.

Me, too

I started experiencing the same noise in early July. When I took it in for my one-year check in August, they said both rear bearings needed to be replaced. They had to order them (said no one else had had problem yet). They were replaced last week and all is quiet again.

I had this problem on my rear passenger side. Took it in and they took care of it. The service guy told me that they've seen a couple cars come in with this problem. So there is a possibility of this being a common problem with tese cars. That's the only problem i've had with the car, no rattles at all, so i'm very happy with my car so far.

So this is a noise that WILL be noticed, and not something for me to listen for. I would think a bearing going out/ breaking would be something of concern, no?

When you have a bad wheel bearing, you'll definitely know it. It gets really loud.
