Rear Speakers Not Working?

I recently connected wires from one of the rear 6x9's to a separate subwoofer. I believe it is an MTX Thunder. The way I did this was by basically taking speaker wire, and wrapping it around the gold wires going to the 6x9's. This seemed to work very well as i did not require a whole separate amp and all. It was working fine for the most part, until today i had my ipod connected to an Fm Transmitter and one of my friends played a song with loads of bass. After that, all the rear speakers including the back door speakers stopped working altogether? What can I do to fix this? Is this just a minor fuse problem? Or did I blow something?

Check fuse No. 5 (20A) and No. 32 (7.5A)
