Unhappy Rattle from Driver Door Area

Hi All,
Wondering if this is a problem - or just isolated to my car. On rougher roads there is a significant rattle that comes from the driver door area. If push my hand against the door handle, it goes away. I should also note that there appears to be wind noise which I'm not used to either.

This is a new car for me (2008 TSX w/ Navi) and I am coming from a '97 Volvo 850. I was expecting to have less issues with the Acura given reliability reports that I have read.

Is there normally noticeable wind noise at 55mph+ and has anyone else experienced a rattle from the drivers door on rougher roads.

Unfortunately I have the rattle too (driver's side)...Also an 08 tsx. I tried to push the door or do something but still can't seem to locate where it's coming from. Will be bringing her in to get it fixed soon as it gets really annoying sometimes!

dbski and alice,
Thanks for your replies. It sounds as though it's not an isolated incident. I already have an appointment at the dealership mid next week and will let you know the outcome. Rather than going in cold regarding these issues I prefer to get feel for whether it's just a problem with my car or the overall construction - which in this case (although only 3 reports in 24 hours) may lend itself to some sort of manufacturer defect that the dealer could already have a fix for. Thanks!

I have the same problem!

I just traded my 04 in for an 08, and I took it on a road trip and on the interstate, I can hear this rattle coming from somewhere. I can't figure out what it could be. But it's really ANNOYING. I'm gonna make an appt too as well. I'm gonna need Honda/Acura to step up their game. I traded in my 04 because of all the mess; I don't wanna deal wit this stuff with this 08. These cars cost way too much to be having all these lil problems. But overall, I LOVE THIS CAR.

I spent $95 on Dynamat for my doors - problem solved. I did all 4 doors. The deadening material they use in the doors is minimal. There are a number of wire looms/connectors that could be causing your noises/rattles.

Try this test:

When it is rattling, lower your window just a little. If the rattle goes away, the problem is most likely with your weather-stripping that causes the glass to rattle the door. There's an article on how to fix it, if I am not mistaken in the 2008 February Acura News.

I just brought my 08 TSX in for service and had them address the rattle from my door. I went for a drive on a road being repaved with the service foreman and as expected the rattle began. Dealership had heard it one time before - and I picked up the car later tonight, so I'm not sure exactly what they did, but they fixed it. So for those of you living with this, bring it in -- it's an issue they can address.

when my 06 tsx was about 6 months old it developed a slight rattle. When I took my car in for service I told the service advisor about it. They fixed it-no more rattles-(knock-on-wood). My car is now 21 months old with 57,500 miles.

One noise gone, another appears

I had a faint rattle in my 08 TSX coming from both passenger and driver-side front doors. Took it to the dealership and they applied silicon to the weatherproofing on the door. The noise is now gone.

Although now, I hear a sharp "clink" somewhere from the front passenger seat while going over bumps. Need to take it back to the dealer...

New owners ... check the TSBs and known problem FAQs. There was a TSB about a vibration when playing music, the fix is known. As for a car door which rattles AND there's a wind noise in the area ... sure as heck sounds like a loose door, or lose/improperly install weather sealing, misaligned window, etc. Definitely an anomaly, as my car exhibits neitner. Go directly to service manager, do not pass GO, do not collect $200.

Hi all,
Quick update. I brought the car back to the dealership and so far the problem is gone. They actually found two separate rattles -- one from the window/door which was corrected with some felt tape, and another from the b pillar which required some realignment. So far so good 3 days later.

FYI: Neither were the issues in the TSB

What would be the fix for the opposite of this problem?

Window down a little and it makes a ticking noise. Tried lubing the seals worked a little bit I think.
