Radio not working/ no music coming out
So my radio has been going in and out for about a month now. No rhyme or reason, it would just go out for a bit, then go back on. It didn't matter if it was the CD player or the radio, it would go out and then back. The radio still had power, etc. It's now been "out" for a about a week :/ has anyone run into this? thoughts on what it could be?

You may want to check the power connector behind the radio. The connector might be loose possibly and finally disconnected. I'm not sure about your setup but you might be able to reach the back of the radio without pulling it from the front.

the radio itself has power and always does have power -it's just all the speakers produce no sound. the amp itself is getting power (i tested with a volt meter). If I had a bad ground, I suppose the radio itself would go out, no? Other then that, could a blown speaker be grounding out the system and causing them to shutoff? or maybe a bad amp?
ugh, so frustrating

My apologies- it sounded like you were having a power problem and not a sound problem.
The connector I mentioned may also have speaker connections in it so it wouldn't hurt reconnecting it.
If you have access to a shop manual, you might want to try a Speaker Test. I have a TL and my speaker test may be different that the TSX's but it involves the following:
1. turn key to ACC1
2. press and hold the preset1/preset3/power buttons simultaneously.
This test allows you to isolate each speaker to verify its sound. You could also do this stuff with the fader/balance controls too. Perhaps this test also works for the TSX too.
Good luck! You might want to visit the dealer and see what they can find.

me too!!!
i'm having the same problem. everything seems to be working. the radio tunes and cd player loads etc. no audio. the annoying part is that the voice from the navi works fine, which leads me to believe the amp works fine. to verify this, i pulled the fuse for the amp and then got directions from the nav and no nav voice. put the fuse back in and then got nav voice. does this mean the HU is dead? or is there a connection or something just for the radio/cd audio that is different than the nav audio? confused.

Hello, I have been experiencing the same problem with the radio sound. The radio sporadically works and other time, it appears to be on, but no sound comes out of the speakers, nor when I put in the cd or plug in my iphone for music. The times that the radio does work, CD player and auxillary works as well. I've tried disconnecting the battery and resetting the radio code, and that seemed to fix it temporarily, but as soon as I turned off my car, and immediately started it again, the radio again had no sound? This is what it will do. It seems to be an electrical issue/connection? I took it to an acura dealer, but all they seem to want me to do is take out the radio and send it in for repair, which could take up to 5 months? Is there any other mechanic or service that specializes in this that anyone can recommend? thank you!

I have a acura RDX 2007. No sound coming from stereo. It turned out to be a 20 amp micro fuse under the dash board located in the fuse box - blown. 2nd row, 3rd fuse from the right. I replaced it and now i have my sound back. No idea how it got blown, but hopefully it keeps working.

My 2005 MDX just suddenly lost radio sound, while CD/DVD and AUX audios are still working. After reading several online forums on how to troubleshoot then I attempted it myself. I located all the fuses under the hood and replaced the radio fuse (20A) from the spare fuses. I also went to the fuses under the passenger kick and replaced the Acc Fuse (#9) from the spare fuses (15A). Still no audio, then I went ahead and disconnected the battery and left if for few minutes to clear the audio memory. Went back and reconnected the battery, turned on the car, keyed-in the navigation and radio codes (kept copies in my cabinet) and so happy to get the radio-audio back.

Anyone that has disconnected the battery did that solution last or did the issue return again? I have a 2005 RL and this issue started in my car yesterday. Just started driving my car again a week ago after having had it parked for a few months while I was away. Had to jump the car to start it and this is the first issue I've had in the week since.

"Was anyone able to figure this out??? I'm having the same issues as well."
I have 2008 TSX with Navi. No audio (including Navi audio) from speakers whatsoever although radio and Navi power up and tune just fine. I checked underdash fuses for power and No.'s 5, 6, & 32 all show 13+ volts. Unfortunately, this leads me to believe the power amp has died.
Any other suggestions most welcome and appreciated.

I was have the same issue with my 2008 Acura TSX non navigation. Radio will work fine and then out of no where it will go out. The radio worked fine I can control everything . The hfl didn’t even work at all. I check all fueses and everything. So then I thought it was the radio but I doubted it. I asked a audio shop who said it was my factory amp. And they quoted me $500 to do aftermarket . So I decided to look at pick a part to see if there was a tsx. There was but I noticed it was a navigation one. Mine wasn’t I still gave it a try and yes it was my factory amp. Even though the tsx I took it out from had navigation and mine wasn’t. It still worked! I also took it out of a 2007 tsx. But yes for those of you having the same problem. It was my factory amp. Radio will work for a while then go out for a whole week and so on.
