Puddle of light brown oil under rear tire
I'm getting a significant puddle of a light brown oil under the rear driver's side tire. I replaced my springs with Neuspeed Sports (but left my OEM shocks) less than a year ago, about 5k miles. I'm assuming the shock has blown? It has been leaking at this rate for at least 3 weeks and I don't see or notice any degradation or sag in that corner, but I can't think what else it would be.
Also, do you think I could get this warrantied? I know I changed the springs, but the car only has about 7700 miles on it. Seems like I should've gotten a lot more out of the OEMs.

Warranty?
no way.
you modded it, it's your problem.
you should have expected your damper to fail soon anyway.
not sure if that's what the oil is, but probably.
you could try putting the OEM springs back on and bringing it in,
but I wouldn't if I were you. That's just shady.
use this opportunity to start saving up for some nice coilovers

I can't imagine what else that oil would be coming from other than the blown damper. It wouldn't increase the sag if it were blown by the way. The way to test it is to push down on that corner of the car and see how much bouncing it does before it settles down.
You're definitely not going to get any warranty coverage on this as the failure is a direct result of the stiffer springs. Your dampers need to be matched to the spring rate.

No sir a blown stut as the the result of an aftermarket spring, will not cover by the warranty. And BTW people factory struts go bad with aftermarket springs not because aftermarket springs are stiffer but because most are progressive rate springs. Factory struts are designed for linear rate springs. Blown strut doesn't mean you car would sag. A strut has nothing to do with keeping a car up.

FYI, my Comptech 110-155 (TL springs) on my TSX have not caused any issues on my 2004 TSX. Bought them back in 2004 and been running strong. We have seen OEM struts go prematurely if you do anything more than 1" drop.
Still, doesn't change the fact that this person's mod of the springs contributed to the failure of the OEM strut, thus not a warrantied item.

Yeah I'm not the shady type to go in there and lie about it, just thought I'd ask if anyone had ever been covered under warranty for something like this before. The Neuspeed's ARE progressive springs, btw. 1.5"F / 1.0" R drop.

I'll probably get some Koni Yellows and call it day.
