Protective Plastic on Bumper Peeling

I have a 2006 Alabaster Silver Metallic. When I was washing my car today, I noticed that the protective plastic coating on the rear bumper cover is starting to peel. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how this problem should be addressed?

^^Sounds like the clear coat. It's odd that the clear coat would be peeling. What State do you live in?
Anyways, sounds like the entire bumper needs to be repainted. Paint needs to be stripped, sanded, primed, painted, and clear coated...generally speaking.

Post pics if you can.

yep. clear coat. my bumper did the same thing. did you buy your car new or used? if it was used, your car may have been in a minor fender-bender and the bumper was repainted.

mine was CPO so the dealer was willing to do a one-time goodwill repaint of the bumper... if your car is still under warranty, have the dealer check it out and get them to repaint it. otherwise, you'll have to pay a bodyshop to get the work done...
