In the processing of pulling the resonator out the wheel well of my 04 6 speed, this little rubber guy came out with it, and in a previous resonator removal I did, I did not get this, so I think in the process of me jiggling the big resonator box to get it through the opening, I pulled this loose from something. Can anyone tell me what it is from? It's got a hole on one end that does not go all the way through, appears to be possibly some kind of vibration damper.

I don't know having not gone poking around in there before. I would guess that it slips over a post somewhere on the resonator and sits in some sort of pocket in the frame. I wouldn't sweat it too much if you can't figure out where it goes.

 

The one theory I have is that there is a hole in the vertical face of the wall of the main chamber of the resonator that faces the opposite front wheel. The piece fits in this hole and would serve as a cushion between the resonator and some surface that it rests against. I just need to find a resonator pic that clearly shows that side of it.

Anyone know for sure?

On the main chamber, on the side with the 2 arms, between the left arm and the curve out on the right side, you can just make out a little nub breaking the surface. I think that is the very top of it. Can anyone confirm?
