Exclamation Pioneer Navigation with Bluetooth Capability???

Hi Guys
I just bought an Acura TSX 2006 a month ago and have given my car to Car Toys for installing a Pioneer AVIC-D2 Navigation System. Unfortunately i am told that the bluetooth feature on my steering wheel will not work anymore, there needs to be an adapter that can be used with my Nav to connect the bluetooth steering controls. My current Pioneer Model does no have one out yet...any ideas and Suggestions?

If they hook it up a certain way it should all still work. How are they hooking it up? Are they bypassing the stock amp?

Don't non-navi owners get bluetooth as well? Where is your bluetooth currently connected to since you don't have navi?

Or are you talking about the steering wheel controls like voice commands? I don't know why they would use bluetooth for those buttons when they could just run wires a short distance...

I agree with Kenny, they should be able to figure out how to wire it so you dont lose your BT.

BTW kenny, do you have the wire schematics for the TSX? Specifically the VSS wire and the ILL wire?

Hint: StreetEffectz + Avic Z1

Aftermarket NAV in 2006 TSX.

I dont know guys what they are doing. They are supposed to be the authorized dealers of the Pioneer NAV systems. THey told me that the 2004 and 2005 TSX were capable enough to connect aftermarket Nav's. But for the 2006 all they said to me that the climate control and heaters are integrated with the radio control unit so they cannot split and attach and aftermarket Nav. Earlier they had told me that there is no adapter for the Bluetooth to work with the Steering wheel so i would loose my BT. My steering wheel has controls to use the BT through my speakers and i guess radio unit. I am very dissapointed other wise i would have gotten my TSX with NAV. I am told it is impossible to integrate an aftermarket NAV in my car. Since the Car Toys ppl are experts i dont want to mess with my car or do i have a choice? Someone told me i should get my NAV from ACURA the factory one and attach it through someone. Would acura sell me the NAV unit?

I'm afraid adding acura navigation into a car without it is more difficult than just simply relacing the head unit. There are tons of wires to run and even more so the parts will be quite expensive to find brand new, and the other parts will be hard to find even used that are cheaper. You might luck out in a junk yard, but even then; unless you have the time or knowledge to do it yourself, it's going to be an expensive install to have a dealer do it.

The 04-05 and 06 navis didn't change much. Although the 06 ones have blue tooth capability, so they may have somewhat of a point. Although in my experience, most installers use stuff like that as an excuse because they dont know what they're doing. but i'm no expert either. Hopefully someone else can chime in here and help out.
