Ping Noise from Rear Passenger Wheel while turning
Hi Guys,
I have an 05 TSX auto non-nav with around 80K km with installed trailer hitch (for a bike rack attachment)
I've had this happen a few times now on the same corner close to my home.... it occurs around 2 out of 10 times i make this turn. I'll be making a right hand turn at around 15- 25 kph. As i'm coming out of the turn, I'll hear a loud "ping" coming from my back rear passenger side wheel. At first, I thought it might be a rock that dislodged from my tire and somehow hit my trailer hitch, but it's happened too many times for it to be a coincident. Could this be related to the Right Rear camber problem posted in this forum?
i've recently switched to my summer rims but the same problem persists.
Thanks in advance!
John

nope, stock suspension. I beleive i'm speeding up but i don't think i'd be going much faster than 35 kph at that point. Pretty sure it's around the same speed...

What is clearance like between your hitch and RSB. There could be enough flex in it to tap that. Also look to see if anything else is close to the hitch mounts, and look at the actual mounting bolts to make sure those are tight too.
I remember seeing the TSB for the right rear upper control arm but I have not seen it for awhile. I am lowered a bit on TEIN H-techs and I am just going to get the ingalls kit to alleviate the problem. I would recommend the same, its about the same price and you have a lot more flexibility in terms of camber/caster angles even with stock suspension. Also if you ever feel like you want to lower it, you already the kit.
