Unhappy OMG 2k for a headlamp

I've been reading here a lot that some ppls tsx's have water in their headlamp and they've taken it to get serviced and it turned out to be some clips that needed to be changed. well yesterday i took my tsx to get that changed because i was having the same issue. they were very cool and said that they'll get that fixed asap. i waited for like 30 min then the rep came out and said it will not be covered because someone backed into my grill, not much but it did leave a lil dent. anyway when that happened the inside of the headlamp it cracked and left a whole about the size of a nickle and they said it was out of warranty and i had to pay $700 to replace the case or $2,000 for the whole light itself! i was like hell mf~ing no! for a hole that small that cant be. so i had him leave it like that. so i was wondering since the hole is so small is there any type of rubber compound or anything that i can use to plug that hole. you cant even see it just when you take out the headlamp. any ideas my fellow acura family?????

I could've moved this for you.

I suggested getting your hands on a window chip fix-it kit from an Automotive store if the crack is that small.

In my eyes you have two options, if the hole is small enough you could always use some silicon and plug it or you could just get another headlight on ebay for under 100 shipped.

If the hole is small enough and not visible, I would first get all the moisture out by using a hair dryer.

Then, If the surface was flat enough, I would just seal the hole up with some water proof tape, or jb weld and call it a day.

But if that isn't the case, just buy a used headlight off eBay, there's a bunch.

Was the accident to the grill there prior to you servicing your car?
$700 for the headlight cover is over the top. I got one from a local Acura dealer for about $380ish. You can get one for $314 at this place http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no
Do your headlights work? (It's just the case that's broken).

Where is the hole? If it's not on the clear part (doesn't sound like it) I'd probably just use a fiberglass patch. You'll want to rough up the plastic on the outside of the hole with some 150 grit paper so the resin has something to bite into. Overlap at least a half inch all the way around the hole. Let i cure for about 30 minutes and put another layer over it. That should do it.

Make sure you you get it completely dry inside first and throw one or two of those silica jell packets that comes with new shoes (and lots of things) in first. I think you can drop em in behind the reflector if you pull rubber surround off where the high beam bulb goes.

Did they at least put the clips on for you? That's like a 5 minute job at most.

Well yeah, if you have a big ass hole in the housing, water leaking in the seam between the clear and black parts is pretty irrelevant. However if you fix the hole, you're still going to want those clips.
