Not trying to be a nitpicker, but...

So, I'm still waiting for my TSX to arrive (was supposed to have arrived on the 23rd of last month) but I think the delay has something to do with that "recall." But the dealer didn't mention anything about that, just that something is holding up the transocean delivery...so I don't know.

But now that I'm waiting, I got to read around a lot and it seems that though this is still a good car, there are enough bad parts to outweigh that. I'm beginning to think if taking back the $1500 deposit and settle on a EX V6 Accord would be a better idea. Sure, I'd give up the sporty look and some other extravagances, but I'm worried about having to deal with most of the problems you current owners have been having about the car.

• Rattles/buzzes in speakers, dashboard, windows, doors
• Navigation screen and system locking up
• Front seats shifting around during cornering or braking
• The actual recent callback itself, involving possible leaks in AT
• Blue LED center console light going out
• Seat heater lights going out

Some less common problems that have occured:
• Car not responding to key fob buttons
• Loud scraping noises coming from midway point beneath the car

I'm not being whiny or paranoid, I just felt like some reassurance. I'm sure if I do stay with the TSX, I won't be too disappointed, but all these common and widespread problems worry me.

I wouldn't call them common or widespread. A forum is always going to have people complaining about problems, its the nature of the internet. Check out the thread about members who love their TSX, there's tons of responses there.

Personally I have none of the problems you mentioned, not even a single rattle w/ 4000 miles on my car and some seriously heavy driving.

Go to a V6 Accord forum and see if anyone complains there, I'm sure they do.

Don't let those things get to you. If you look at the true stats, this is a very trouble-free car. If you want one you should buy it. But if you think you'll be more comfortable with the Accord, get it instead. Only you can make that determination.

Thumbs up Happy camper!

I have and had my share of TSX problems, all of them minor (small door rattle-fixed, window creaks-almost fixed, driver seat shifts-being fixed under warranty). Stuff that I wouldn't notice and be bothered about, unless I was wishfully looking for perfection. But being an engineer in manufacturing business, I can tell you that achieving 100% perfection across the board is nearly or bluntly impossible. As long as my TSX doesn't fail on me mechanically, I'll be a happy camper for a long time.

I think Accord V6 Coupe looks okay and it is a good price compared to many cars in the market. But style and luxury feel of my TSX out shines Accord, IMO.

I don't think you'll be dissapointed either way, they're both nice cars, but remember before you select, you are what you drive

Good luck!

i have had no problems with my car either. there was a slight buzz on the passenger door that was caused with certain bass notes and i fixed it myself.

many of the rattles are because the stock speakers have a lot of cone travel and as a result the front speakers shake the hell out of the doors.
other than that the car has been perfect in every way.

First off, I once went to a meeting where the speaker threw out a stat on customer satisfaction. He said that for every bad experience a consumer has, that consumer tells 9 people about it. The same is not true for good experiences. I don't know if this is true, but it makes sense to me.

Second, my tsx has over 13K miles on it and I haven't noticed one squeak, rattle, or other noise. No problems what so ever. I got it mid april '03 and have not been happier with the car.

The TSX is my first Acura. Currently, my center console is out. Not just the little blue light that shines down, but the entire displays of the clock, the radio/CD, and the heat and air. You can tell what radio station you're on, whether CDs are loaded or not, or at what temperature the thermostat is set. My car has been broken 2 weeks and I'm told that it will be at least another week before parts arrive from Japan to fix the car.

The treatment that I've received at the dealership with this problem and the response that I got when calling corporate Acura have been deplorable. Believe me, they act like they DON'T CARE that it is taking a long time to get parts. They do not return calls when they tell you they will (both the dealership and the 1-800 Acura folks).

I wish you good luck if you decide to stay with Acura. For me, this will probably be my last Acura.

I would like to add something to this argument. I have had my TSX for about 7 months now. I have 22,000 miles on my car and I love it. My console light did go out recently but the dealership is fixing it in 2 weeks and they are giving my a loaner car the day of repair. I could not be happier with my car. I have had an Acura before (Legend) and I loved that car too. I did have some rattles when the car was brand new, but after a month they left the car.
