You might have a scratched disk, try cleaning it well first. Otherwise it could be a bad ground on the unit or maybe a bad unit altogether.

i have similar issues. i have an 04 tsx w/ navi and am also out of warranty. my navi started to not load when i start the car. and now it completely died. after troubleshooting i learned that the dvd drive burnt out. i paid the dealership 100 bucks to diagnostic, and they only determined that the dvd drive was busted. they quoted me 4000 dollars JUST FOR THE NEW PART. obviously i argued about how that is double the price of the entire navi system brand new. i even called acura client services 5 times total so far. they refuse to assist in any way. so i am forced to buy parts from ebay and install myself. good luck, you might need it.

i dont know where the ground is because my manual is not with me. do you think the ground is a problem? you can unplug that connectors in back of the dvd unit until you lose power...

I'm having the same problem with my Navi unit. It keeps on resetting and asking for the Navi code. Once I start the car again at another occasion it resets all over again. I took it to the dealer, and said they had to replace the whole Navi unit. Luckily I'm still under the warranty. I'm still waiting for the part to arrive and for me to drop off my car to get it replaced.

so what exactly do they have to replace? when you say the whole unit, you mean the dvd drive in the trunk? or you mean the entire navi system? be happy you are under warranty.

^ yes the dvd drive. Mine is also an '04. I'm still under the (CPO) certified preowned warranty. At first the service advisor told me the dvd drive was discontinued and might have to give me a 'newer one'. Not sure what he meant by that, maybe the '06/07's. But later called me and told me they were able to locate the 'part' that was needed for my car. I'm still waiting for a call so I can take the car in, and have the unit replaced.

I'm starting to wonder if this is going to be a problem. So far there's three of us who's DVD unit has given up.

i wouldnt think you need a voltage stabilizer. have you checked your battery? at the end mine started resetting while driving too. it seemed that it was the motor and the fan in the drive finally crapping out, then starting up, then crapping out, etc...i would think your drive is breaking. i dont know if a voltage stabilizer wil do it. have that dealer work their magic...
