Haven't had that problem yet myself, but it is based on Microsoft Windows CE, so I believe it.

I had my TSX w/ NAVI since April 28th and have around 3700 miles and have NEVER had it freeze up. A few others have mentioned lockups on the other forum however. If it was an OS issue then it would happen to everyone since we all are running the same version of the software. It has to be something else and my guess it is faulty hardware in either the main unit or the DVD-ROM drive.

I still blame the OS (can you tell I don't like MS?).

Truthfully though, the navi manual does mention that rebooting can happen in extreme weather conditions, especially when its too hot, or when the car gets shaken too much, i.e. big bumps.

Most of us are already aware of this. I posted a very long thread about this back in april. Many of us called american honda to complain. No one knows what causes it or how to fix it but all I can tell you is that it started happening to my once a week right after I got the car. Then it started happening every day. But by the end of may it stopped happening altogether. So thats almost two months of no freezing. Have the dealership look at it next time you have an oil change.

You guys are so lucky. My navi freez like once a week or once every two weeks, and the dealer can do nothing about it. This is unfair!

The NAVI in my '00 RL has been the only problem in an otherwise perfect experience. Yesterday...they just installed the SECOND replacement unit. Pretty frustrating, in that they really don't have much diagnostic capability, and needed to be hounded to order a $600 replacement part.

After six visits and a lot of shoulder shrugging (even after they'd replaced it the first time, AND replaced the disc under warranty), I had to call Consumer Affairs and have a little tete 'a tete with the service manager to explain my frustration.

So far so good...

Anyway, I was having the same freezing problem, plus various error messages (spurious "disc missing or door open" and "disc reading error (unformatted). consult dealer" message on the screen) that you've been getting with your "new, improved" systems.

The Navi in my 99 TL used to freeze constantly. The system in my 03 TLS and my wife's 03 EX-V6-Navi does not seem to have any problems.

Mine has frozen twice in the month I've had it. I stopped, turned off the engine and restarted and it booted up fine. It's been a couple weeks since it happened last. My guess it is a Bill Gates "feature" since the damn thing is Windows based.

This isn't a defect, but it is an annoyance. I found out today that polarized sunglasses block the light from the screen.
