Remove tints. How many satellites does your navi recognize?

Or maybe try this: http://www.skinz.org/phone/cell.html

If the metallic material in the tint is causing the error, then you may not have any other choice. At least you will only have to replace the rear window.

This is odd because I also have metallic tint and have not had any navi issues...so far.

lol, you should've done a search here before you for the tints. You would've come up with the conclusion "stay away from metallic tints".
It'll not only affect nav reception, but also AM radio and sometimes even FM.

IF the navigation antenna is on the back part of the roof, how does the windows affect the navigation if it has tints on it???

It's under the back shelf; if you draw a vertical line, the line of sight passes through the rear window.

You're thinking of the XM antenna.

As long as the tints aren't causing any rattles.

Yeah, my navi works fine but I have lost some AM signal. Only radio station I listen to is NPR, so no big deal.

Thanks for the explanation of where the navi signal comes from-now is there anyway to move it?

My my, aren't you just friendly in every post you make. Perhaps try asking for information on your boyfriend's BMW site.
