Navi DVD copy
I am posting this here because I havn't seen anything about it except for one post buried in Byson's "Hack your Navi" thread.

I tried to follow his directions with the DVD for my 06 TSX's Navi. I wasn't able to get discjuggler to work, so I decided to try copying it using just DVD Decrypter (a free program which I found with a quick google search).
It Worked!
I am currently running my system with a backup copy (made from a blank Memorex DVD+R DL disk). I have to say, so far it works flawlessly. I was even able to re-download the program to the system.

I have made backups of the following NAV discs, 02 TL, 03 TL, and the latest DVD for 03TL that came out a few months ago which is now DVD +DL., I have an image of an 06 TL from a loaner I had but did not load it in another car to see if it worked, I am 99% positive that it would work. The following are software tools needed to perform this: DVD Decrypter, and DiskJuggler. Use DisckJuggler to create an ISO image of the disk, the reason I use DiskJuggler is because of how it does a sector by sector image of the disk and does not care about copy right protected media, if you use any other program than Diskjuggler then this may not work for you. Once the image file is created on your hard drive, open DVD Decrypter, go to Mode, ISO, Write. Then select the ISO image file you created, put the appropriate disk in your DVD burner and burn it back. If it is more than 4.5 GB you will need to use a DVD+R DL disk, if it is 4.5 GB or less you can use a standard DVD+R.
FYI for those of you interested you can order the latest disk from Alpine, they have a 30 day money back guarantee, so if you for some reason decided you did not like the disk you can return it for a full refund minus shipping.

I burned at the default max. speed which was 8x.
I used the default settings on DVD Decrypter, but I read the original disk to an ISO image on my hard drive, then burned from that image.
I don't know what you mean by "change the disc to dvd-rom"... maybe that's where I chose the option to read/write the ISO image.
I hope this helps. I think that's all the info I have.

DVD Decrypter is an awesome program. I have been using it for quite a while to make "backups" of dvd movies. Its very very easy to use. The install is tiny as well. You can make an image file or do a direct copy of a disc. Works with single and dual layer disks. Two highly recommended burners that work good with dvd decrypter are the ones made by NEC and LiteOn. I've currently got LiteOn with the lightscribe technology so I can make my own labels directly onto the disks.
I hadn't tried to make a copy of the navi dvd but if he says its working then I believe it. DVD Decrypter has never failed me personally.
SO, we need someone with the latest navi disc to make an image so we can download it!

Hey, jimbo123! Still waiting for the type of burner you have. I tried this several times with different programs (including DVD Decrypter) and Verbatim media. I'm currently using a Plextor DVD burner. I'm starting to come to the conclusion that it's not the program that is used, but it's more a combination of the burner and media.

Unfortunatly, it will be about 2 weeks before I'll be home again and be able to tell you the type of burner I have.
I'll try mine tonight and post back my results. Like I said, I have a LiteOn drive and I'm currently using RiData media.
Jimbo is your computer a brand name or custom built? if its brand name and you happen to know the model then it could be looked up.

Anywho, I have copied my disc and it appears to be working fine. I'll test some more later but I mapped a few routes and everything was fine. I couldn't tell any difference. Speed was the only thing I thought might be an issue but I didn't see any issue.
I used DVD Decrypter to make an image file then used my LiteON SHM-165H6S drive and a Verbatim DVD+RL 2.4x disc. I forgot the disk had to be dual layer and earlier I had mentioned I had RiData discs but they are only single layer. I put my original navi disc in the drawer and I've got the burned one in the car right now.

Maybe we can get this added to the FAQ.
