navi buttons dont work

i recently installed my amp where i had to splice the wires coming in from the stereo amp. I basically spliced all of the wires from the "a" and "b" section of the amp (look at the service manual) except for the ground, shielding, and power lines. Meanwhile I had to disconnect my negative battery while installing the amp. But now, when my nav starts up it asks for the anti-theft code.....the only problem is that my touchscreen or the buttons dont work.

I was looking at the "if you nav buttons" dont work section in the service manual, but I cant imagine why splicing the wires from the stereo amp would cause this.

However, I am not quite done with my stereo install so the only live wires are from the audio ( b section wires ) of the amplifier. All of the stereo wires are not connected to the amp yet.

Anyone have any ideas?

thanks

I believe that you have to use radio tune knob to enter the code.

Check your manual...

radio buttons

you do use the radio buttons to unlock the radio anti-theft code but the navi-anti-theft code requires the usage of the screen.

fixed the problem

the reason why my nav buttons shorted out is cuz i took out the mp3 player.. basically the mp3 player from acura has an input and an output.. the input takes in the nav cable, the output goes to the audio unit. When you remove the mp3 unit, the nav senses a broken connection in the wiring and hence shorts out the buttons.

how to fix it

pretty simple.. if you take out your center console you ahve the following

cable for navi ----<no device>---- cable for audio unit

thing is i didnt have the mp3 player on there so there was a break in the wiring i suppose so when i added it back..

cable for navi ----- mp3 player ---- cable for audio unit

Everything was fine.

Actually another weird problem I have is when i run the shond3 in conjunction with the mp3 player, the mp3 player's volume gets really grainy. Any ideas anyone?
