navi boot up.

anyone's navi ever lockup during boot up?...it gets to the screen where you're supposed to press 'ok', but pressing it doesn't do anything...just stuck. happens to me maybe once every ten times i start the car.

i remember reading about this a while back on the other site...anybody get this looked at or fixed?

Sorry, my Navi system has never done that. However if it did it 1 out of ten times I would take it to the dealer. have them look at it.

That has never occured to me either. If I were to forget to press the OK, the screen will just turn blank. When I press map again, the screen returns and I press OK to get to the navigation.

btw, I have version 1.0900 of the software. I'm sure that fixes the problem if you had an earlier one. What version do you have?

Interesting jump in versions. 1.0300 (or maybe it was 1.0030) here with a build date of 6/03. I've never had the navi freeze on me, but I wonder what they've changed from 3-9

Yeah, I wondered how they went from 1.03 to 1.09... My car was built in 7/03 and I have 1.03 as well. I wonder what 8/03 and 9/03 builds have?!

I have to say pressing ok every time is overkill (I would get easily annoyed to the point of figuring out how to defeat it). Don't you just love a law suit happy society.

Not only does hitting okay bugs me, but the OK button doesn't appear on the disclaimer page until 5-7 seconds later. That forces you to read the whole thing if you happened to be staring at the screen waiting for the button to appear. However, I never read the whole thing in its entirety before

That's why I always turn on the car before I get comfortable and put on my seat belt. Buy the time I back out and put it into drive I can Finallly hit OK.

I looked at the programing code. But their is a lot of stuff to look through. My friend and I are trying to make sense of everything. But I doubt we will be able to do it anytime soon.

How did you manage to get the source code to the Nav system's firmware?

That's my question too. Or was he just poking around on the DVD?...

There was a pretty big thread on the club about this long ago that hit a number of scenarios..

eg: simulate keypress

or download rom, modify to not display disclaimer then reflash the nav, etc.. etc.. Although it didn't look like any real progress was made.
