there isn't any damage to the fender, just to the paint. anyone know how much $$ it would cost to fix and what the fix would entail? never let a girl learn stick on your TSX....

Most of that will buff out, but the dark parts where the paint scraped off will need to be repainted.

If you want to go the DYI route, you need to purchase a touchup pen/paint, sandpaper, and the regular "shine" kit.

And yes, never let a girl learn stick on your car.

should i hit up an autozone or something? i'm afraid i'd mess it up even more (the thought of sandpaper scares me) so would i be better off just getting it fixed for ~100-200 bucks?

they'd probably have to respray the whole bumper for that. The buffing is a temporary fix, and as far as the sandpaper just make sure it's really really fine grit and it will actually help smooth it out and then you can shine it up...

and ya i'd never let anyone learn stick on any car i own... if they wanna learn i'd teach them on someone elses car

What were you doing trying to teach someone to drive stick near a concrete pole?

I taught my first girlfriend how to drive stick on my car. Granted, it was an 87 Accord way back when. That was memorable, let me tell you.

Normally that can't be touched up so they would have to paint the whole bumper--most people (who paint it right) will charge about $250-$300 to paint the whole bumper...but its not just painting, they will need to smooth out the scrapes and all that stuff to make it like new.

Yes, i know exactly what you are saying. Let my car drive back when i was test driving a 2003 540 6 speed. The salesperson knew me so he let me take it out alone. She said she knew how, so i said ok, lets see what you think. Well... we are in this huge parking lot that was empty while we were swapping seats. So she gets in and first thing she does is depress the clutch and then she mashes down the gas pedal up to 4000-5000rpms. I was like "NO! STOP!" right before she fully released the clutch. She didn't even notice what went wrong. She was all like "what?". I pulled the parking brake and said we are switching back "NOW!".

haha man... 300hp @ that high of RPM, a clutch dump woudln't have gone over too nicely. While we were switching back i smelt burnt clutch. So... that means she actually did release it a little bit.

Nice one

A good buffing with a porter system will help clean that up nicely believe it or not. Someone on here posted pics of their scraped up wheel fender where their mom scraped up against it backing out of the garage... haha. Although, after waxing, buffing, waxing, buffing, the horrific "scars" were gone

Test that out first before dropping a few hundred dollars.

oof. okay. so do you think i can try buffing/waxing/buffing/waxing to get the white discolored parts somewhat normal? i can live with a couple small scrapes, but this is just one big white puffy concrete pole cloud and it's pissing me off.

Well, your not going to be able to do it by hand. And by the time you buy a polisher, pads and polishes you going to be $200+ in the hole. Might as well just take it to a pro.

i practically learned how to drive stick when i got my '04 MT. When i test drove it, it was only the 3rd time i had driven a MT car. And the test drive was the longests i have ever driven a MT car. But being that its your only means of transportation....you learn fast.
