Multi Information Display (MID)

I wanted to access the setup menu of the MID (2006). when I press the info button on the steering wheel for more than 3 seconds, as directed in the manual, to access the menu, I get "driver unknown" message. anyone knows what is the problem?

thanks a lot

you need to pair your remote to the car. It will tell you how to do this in the manual, but off the top of my head I think you hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote close to the car for about three seconds or so until the lil red light flashes on it, that should pair em up and no more problems!

This is correct, when you setup customized MID information, it pairs the settings with either a "Driver 1" or "Driver 2" memory setting. Then, by using the associated key, the car knows which personalized settings to recall.

I had the same problem even though I had my fob paired with the car. As it turns out, you also have to use a 'real' key to get the driver customization. I have a valet keychain and I was always using the valet key to drive so that I could just unclip and go at valet parking (There is also a real key on the other half of the keychain.) Imagine my surprise last night when I used my real key and it said "Welcome Driver 1" for the first time since I bought the car. So I guess we have to use a real key most of the time and the valet key when we think the place we are going has valet parking? I don't like shutting off the car at the valet.
