I heard a lot of members here complaining about how when they take off their mudguard, they have scatches on their paint. So far my 06 have been thru one winter w/o mudguard, no problem so far. i recommend u taking it off.

Mine were removed when I had the bodykit installed. There are scratches but nothing major. Next spring when I fully detail the car, I will be attacking the scratches with a scratch remover/minimizer such as Meguiar's Scratch-X. Great stuff.

How would one go about painting the OEM mudguards to match the car's color? Any special prep or paint to use? I had the OEM aero kit on my '04 and hte rear qaurter took a lot of rock chips - my reason for using mud guards oon my '08. The mud flaps on my '06 RL match the color of the car - why can't Acura do that for all models?

You could definitely paint them to match but you'd require a flexible primer (made for painting bumpers and moldings), and flex-agents added into the paint (same as the primer -- made for bumpers). It'd be easy to do once you have the materials, but be warned that they will likely chip and/or the paint will crack with the amount of abuse they take from rocks, sand, etc...

Meguiars Scratch-X is great. I recommend everyone get some. See those little fingernail scratches under the door handles? This stuff beats all that.
