MID Not able to recognize driver settings

When I unlock the car with my remote from day one its always said Welcome on the MID screen. I was reading today in the owners manual that when using the remote to unlock the door, it should display Welcome driver 1 or 2 but mine has never done that. So when I tried to go into the options by holding down the info button for 3 seconds it says driver unrecognizable or something to that extent. They said this should only happen if you use the key to unlock the doors but I have always used the remote. Is there something I am doing wrong? I wanted to play around with some of the settings but its locking me out

Read the back of your fob, you have to hit the lock and unlock button at the same time for like 3 seconds I think then that option will be available. I wondered the same thing, you will have to do it on both fobs!

I think it comes by default unlinked (so many people have asked about it, and I had the problem too as well). Hitting the lock and unlock button at the same time will link the remotes so that they can be recognized

I dont have a problem with the remote linking up to the memory setting for the seat cause that works just fine. My problem is when I try to customize the settings it says Driver not recognizable Customization Impossible. I tried doing the lock and unlock thing and I am still having the same problem

Mid

Well, if you have hit the lock and unlock buttons and linked it to the car then there is something else going on! Sorry and good luck!

it still doesn't come linked unfortunately, just try it again. I think alot of people, including I, had the same problem. My seat was recognized, but it wasn't fully linked.

no, if it was linked you could customize the settings.... the fobs themselves come as driver 1 or driver 2 fobs... the car will recognize that on it's own.... you need to link them to the car to have the customized MID settings... its' a seperate step that they SHOULD have done before u got ur car, but many dealers will forget

does anyone know what exactly needs to be done to link it up or does this need to be done through the dealer?

if i remember right, u press the unlock and lock at the same time, you will see a series of flashes. I forget which pattern corresponds with linking/unlinking. I suggest you try pushign them both together for a while, then start the car. If it doesn't say welcome driver 1, then take the key out and try it again, this time it should work when u start the car.

It doesn't recognize the driver because it isn't fully linked. Hopefully a few unlink/links will fix it. I had to do it a couple of times myself

yea, well good news is that after a few tries and it not working I gave up on it. Then the next time I got into my car I look on the screen and low and behold it said Welcome Driver 1 and I was able to go into the customizeable settings lol
