Metallic sound from rear wheels/brakes

Hello All. I am a new TSX owner and new to here. Glad I found this place.

Background - bought an 06 TSX in May. 29k miles. Now 33k.

Just in the past 5 days or so I started to notice a metallic squeak/scratching sound from the rear. The first time I heard it I thought I had pickup up something from the road and was dragging. Stopped and checked but nothing there. Then I continued to hear the sound. It comes at both low & higher speeds. For maybe 10-15 sec, then gone. Returns every few minutes.

Yesterday finally took a closer look - and noticed something on the right rear that appears to be bent. The liner/cover on the back side of the brake surface? Sorry, I'm not a car guy - don't know how to describe the part. I took a pic, but can't attach it here (my work computer wont allow outside images - so I cant upload to Flickr or someplace else to attach).

But if you run the google search below - look at the 3rd image which shows the rear drive/axel assembly. It would be part #4 that is bent back, right near the rear brake caliper/pad.

2 questions - I know its hard to diagnose here, but is that the likely culprit for my noise?

And 2, more important, I am supposed to drive this weekend (~600 mi). No time to fix this today. Will I do more damage driving it? Or think I will be oky to drive and fix it next week?

Thanks in advance for any insights provided.

Part #4 on the diagram appears to be a shield. This shield does not do any braking - it probably keeps water from entering the brakes or it deflects air to cool the brakes.
Scraping is never a good sound. It may not cause any big problem but you may have to replace the shield because it is scraping. Or if it is touching the rotor surface, you may have to replace rotor or resurface it.
I have also heard a scraping sound from the rear brakes, and it can be a wear indicator. This is deliberately designed to make this metallic scraping sound to tell you the caliper pads are very worn. The TSX does seem to wear out the rear brake pads sooner than the front pads. 33K miles would be very low miles for wearing out the brakes - unless previous owner used brakes heavily.

PS-I just looked at my rear brakes. There is very little clearance between this shield and the rotor (the heavy metal disk). If the shield is bent a bit - it could rub on the edge of the rotor. You might even be able to bend the shield away from the rotor. If the shield is really bent, you might not be successful and a new shield may be needed.

Ok, thanks. Also just realized I typed '06 when I meant '08 (we have an 06 MDX as well).

Yeah, was reading on the Acura website about the brake wear indicators. But its says they should make noise under braking. Just to clarify I am hearing my noise when not braking. Im just going to take it into the dealer as soon as possible. Still should be under warranty.

The sound it like scraping metal, its not a nice sound at all. it worse when i go slower and seems to fade out with speed,

im not fab with knowing what is what, but if some one could point me in the right direction many i want get ripped off in the garage ( with its this and this and this! )

when the brake indicator reaches the disc it will squal at low speeds even if the brakes are not applied, they eat rear pads as mine is a taxi in dublin the weight is totaly in the back and the brake distrubtion applies more braking to the back
