So now I've got two separte issues on my car

1) the maint. required light is still on and the usual procedure for resetting it has no effect. Is it possible that my CAI is messing with the air intake sensor and tripping it? Would a OBD scan tool tell me what's tripping the light?

2) I now have a 3rd gear grind whenever I shift out of 2nd at above 4000rpm which is almost every time. So basically I'm driving like a granny now. I just had my tranny fluid changed last week and it was shifting really smoothly and now this. What do you think the problem is? could I get a new tranny out of it?

 

why would a CAI set off your maint light? you sure you don't mean your CEL?

 

yeah maint. required. I can't get the thing to turn off. neither could the dealer.
