loose e-brake... how to tighten?

today i parked my car on a slight hill and when i put up the e-brake up the car still rolled back. i park on this road all the time and have never had an issue. when i pulled the handle up there used to feel like there was some resistance but today it felt really loose and flimsy. cant i just tighten the cable and my problem is solved? anyone know how to tighten our parking brake? thanks

One possibility - Check your rear brake disc & pads. It could be that your rear pads or discs or both have worn down that it's time to replace it. Less rear brake pad/disc will require pulling the e-brake higher.

Isn't our E-Brake drum brake inside the disk hub?

If its suddenly loose, wouldn't that mean the cable snapped, or came off somehow? If it were worn brakes or just in need of adjustment I would think it would be a gradual decline in the tightness of the brake lever. Maybe I just understood the OP wrong but the suddeness of it would lead me to believe theres a problem.
