Reading this thread might cure you from any ideas of replacing interior lights with LEDs.

I've had my blue interior LED's in my car for a couple of years now. Not one issue. I have the dome, map, door and even the visor lights installed.

If you don't mind me asking, where did purchase your LEDs?

My license plate LEDs light up a small portion of the ground behind my car. They're plenty bright enough. I've been meaning to take a pic, but I can't do that today as it's currently raining. I'll try to get a pic soon and post it.

Here's my first attempt at posting pictures on Acurzine (created a Photobucket account strictly for this purpose). These show the WLED-WHP LED Wedge Base Bulbs from superbrightleds.com. As I mentioned, you can see in the second pic how they even light up the ground a bit behind the car. Sorry for the crappy quality, it was raining and I have incredibly unsteady hands. I also don't know a thing about photography... point-and-shoot for me (although I did have the sense to turn the camera to "night shot" mode).

Did you notice this when stopped/parked? Or did somebody else notice while you were driving? I've been checking mine every time I get out of my car to make sure both are still on. I really don't know how else to check.

This is precisely why I'm reluctant to do LEDs outside the car, especially the license plate which is particularly difficult to monitor. If they only malfunction when the car is moving, you could drive around like that indefinitely and never know it (until an officer decides to kindly notify you).

Do a search for "hoen led." The 6 led hoen city lights do not hold up either. I had mine for 3 months before they started flickering. Hoen has a warranty and they're replacing mine, but when this next set burns out, I'm going to switch to the wled-hp.

I want to get white lights, but i really don't want the ground to be lit up as well... it seems to be a common theme from what i've read so far.

What would be my best bet?

Just make sure they flash when you remote unlock your TSX... easiest way possible to see if they're still working.

well, i noticed tonight that one of my hoen plate LEDs were flickering. this sucks.

is the bulb just fried then or is it a bad connection. what a shame. the leds make the rear look pretty nice for such a small mod.

Probably bad connection the bulbs don't fit right. And we slam our trunks HARD....

I got alot flickers and it turns out the bulb almost popped out.
Try fixing them and see.

well, i finally had a chance to check out my hoen plate bulbs.

looks like the one that's flickering is just fried or something. two of the little bulbs on the top just keep flickering away no matter how many times i tried to put the bulb in or flip it around.

i'll probably just order another set and keep the extra as a spare in case another one decides to die.

i really think you should switch to the bulbs at superbrightleds.com. I myself had flickering hoens and judging from this forum, a lot of people had flickering problems with the hoens too. ive had the WLED-WHP (http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html) for the longest time now and they are still making me happy. also, the WLED-WHP are brighter AND whiter than the hoens. I cant believe i spent so much money on the hoens when the WLED-WHP were superior. just give it a try, theyre only 5 bucks each

Are you talking about the the WLED-WHP or the WLED-WHP9? The first one is smaller and has ONE high-power square diode. The second one has 9 square high powered diodes in a tower form. You are referring to the smaller one, right?

correct.
the one with only ONE led in it.
they are awesome lights.

I use them in my Infiniti too.
in the Infiniti, they fit the doors, map lights, rear dome lights, trunk,
just about everything.

I've had them on my back plate and in my doors in my TSX for a year
now with perfect performance, oh in the trunk too.
but it's not bright enough in the trunk really.

suggestion about LED lights.

i found these on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/L-105...Q5fAccessories

its a 2pc 4led wedge bulb for the license plate.

are these good?

i also found these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Whi...Q5fAccessories

any ideas on which one is better? i don't wan't it to be too bright, just basically the same brightness as the stock ones, but just the led light instead of the ugly yellow one thats there.
