I HATE FUCKING STREETS IN DC, So it's snowing and very little street lighting and i didn't see the big fucking pot hole; blew my tire out....

It's sad to see that streets in the nation's captial are in such bad shape....

Funny thing, Mayor Williams did a good job of removing the trash from the streets but left the roads in deplorable condition, I could never understand it What a shame. Hopefully you didn't bend your rim. Sorry to hear about your misfortune bro.

You must have been driving really fast to blow out a stock tire, pretty thick sidewall, unless it's was a really deep ass pot hole. I blew one of my tire on my gold Ggames last week and that's with a 35 sidewall and I did not even hit a pothole.

Aww man Lito =| How'd you blow it out? Man if I'm going to be going to 18s with a thinner sidewall, I guess I'll have to leave the spare in the trunk after all huh...

Worst roads I've driven on are in MN. Between frost heaving and all-concrete construction they're murder on wheels, tires, suspension, and everything else in the car including my fillings. Iowa is, remarkably, much better -- not as many people I guess, and when they start fixing a road they FINISH.

I grew up in Bethesda -- DC roads are bad, 'burbs are much better.

youre tire

You dont have to pay for it IN D.C. if you contact the department of Motor vehicles they will have them look at the pothole and your tire and write you a check of course i dont know how long that will take. It was on the news the other day.

Yeah, unfortunately they have summer rubber on them so I don't think they'd to him much good given the weather we're having right now. Plus, I don't have them at my place. They're in storage at my friends garage in Potomac.

Dude, I totally feel your pain on this one. 2 years ago, in my CL-S, I hit a pothole in Arlington that was caused by road construction. It was a perfect square, unmarked, 9 inches deep (I measured it). It tore off my tire.

Pissed, I put on the spare and went home. The next day, after the car pulled hard to the right after getting a new tire, Acura discovered my control arm was damaged and the rim was bent beyond repair. $1200 later, I was back on the road.

However, I immediately sent a bill to the Arlington County. What a joke that turned out to be. They blamed the hole on Dominion Power, who in turned blamed Arlington. Arlington then told me they don't own the road, VDOT does. So, I complained to VDOT, who blamed Comcast cable. Comcast cable said they couldn't do anything without a police report. Called the police, and they couldn't do anything because the pothole had since been filled.

After 18 months of dealing with that nonsense, I gave up.

virginia has one of the best maintained secondary road systems in the country so overall va has very nice local roads....i'm from richmond but lived in dc for the past four years and now in fairfax...didnt have a car in dc, but picked up a tsx 7 months ago or so....

soooooo....obviously dc wont have the same road systems because they're maintained by the federal gov't no and NOT part of va or md??

also....dc roads really do suck...i've driven in dc a lot even if i never owned a car of my own here....but at least they're fixing up 23rd street in northwest. that road really blows...
