I had a biggg problem with my clutch on the way from work today...

I know that my clutch is probably not in the greatest condition and that i had a limited time on the original one left. I drove the car this afternoon for lunch, and it felt 100% fine. As soon as you depress the clutch, even a little there was resistance.

Today on the way home, the clutch was REDICULIOUSLY loose. ZERO resistance what so ever. it was coompleeetely limp. only at the verrry bottom of clutch travel was there any resisitance on them, and i had to basically, FIGHT to switch gears.

Somehow I made it home. its already 7PM, and I have a business trip in the morning, I can't ahold of any svc depts, I dont know what to do :-(

What could be wrong?? Theres NO way the clutch could have worn to shit within a matter of 5 undriven hours.

See if your clutch slave cylinder is fully attached......sometimes the bolts holding the cylinder against the transmission backs out. If it aint that, then you most likely need a new clutch master cylinder. Good Luck!!

When they replaced the clutch master cylinder, did they also replace the slave cylinder? If not, then check to see if the slave cyliinder is leaking. If so, that explains why the clutch pedal goes to the floor.

It's usually best practice to replace both the master and slave together to prevent this kind of problem from happening. Seen it too many times...

That sucks to hear. I hope you get everything figured out.
Just have the wifey take you to the dealer in the morning and have them get you a loaner.
If they just replaced a master cylinder 6 months ago, they should live up to the part if that's the one that failed. I believe any work that is done is warantted for 12 months 12000 miles. At least that's what most of these places around here are.

My first Acura ('88 Integra) lost its clutch at 111,000 miles without warning (the day before I was to trade it in). It was fine one day, seemed a little odd driving in to work the next, and was completely gone when I was going to leave work that evening. Rather than slipping as I thought it would, it simply wouldn't disengage at all. the service department told me it was because the self adjuster (it was cable operated) was trying its best to tighten it up, but there was nothing left. I'm not sure if similar reasoning would apply to a TSX or not. How many miles do you have? It seems awful early to have worn out a clutch.

Sorry for the late response.....

The slave cylinder is attached to the transmission somewhere, basically follow the fluid line coming from the clutch master cylinder, and it will lead you to it.
