how long did it take?

I'm planning on bringing my car to have the creaking / squeaking taked a looked at. Seems like its coming from the middle console near the shifter. Has anyone successfully gone to the dealer and had them fix it? If so how long was the car out for?

Thanks!

I've had the same mysterious creaking sound for a few months. I took it in once, but the dealer couldn't hear it. The creaking has gone away a little since then, but it's still there.

From what others have posted, regarding rattles and stuff in the dash and windshield, don't be surprised if they keep it overnight or even a few days.

Anyway, good luck getting it fixed, and please let us know how it goes.

I brought my car in for the creaking / squeaking sound that I've been hearing that sounds like it's coming from the center console. They told me that it will take them a while to figure out what's causing it. They said I proabably won't get it back until Monday. That's about 5 days without my car, which I've only had for about a week. I just hope they fix it. The loaner car that I got from them have no squeaks/creaks or rattle at all and it has like 8000 miles on it.

Got the car back from the delear took about 2 1/2 days to get it back. The squeaky noise so far is gone. I heard a little rattle when I left the dealership, so i went back. The service person said they didn't touch anything else, it turns out it was the little switch where the map light is... he pounded on it and it went away. I think i still hear something when hit a bump, but hopefully that's just my imagination.

Meeh, what did your dealer tell you was the cause of the creaking noise from the central console, and how did they fix it? I am very curious to know, since I have the same creaking noise during acceleration and deceleration! Thanks.

ostrich: The dealer told me that they had to adjust the center console and sealed it. I don't have the paper work, cause they were busy and said that they'd mail it to me. When i get that in the mail, i'll post it.

When a tech came with me to listened to the creaking, he isolated it to where the console meets the radio. He squeazed both sides and he was able to reproduce the squeak without even with out the car moving.

Drove the car today and i now i hear the creaking sound... it's not as loud, but it's still there.. arrggh!!!

I think it's coming from the middle console where the blue light is, cause when i move it , it makes the creaking sound.

I really like this car, but man... that, creak is driving me crazy.
