MY dad and I did some troubleshooting and think it may be the rack and pinion.

R&P are a known issue in Gen1 cars. I had mine replaced @32000 in my '08.

If it indeed is the R&P, get it diagnosed and then get a hold of Acura client services. This should not be failing at 135,000km ~85k miles.

Check whether any bubbles are returning to reservoir when the hissing occurs. If yes, air is getting into PS fluid on suction side somewhere; inlet fitting, hose connection, reservoir connection, PS pump shaft.

good luck

well this is weird. My mechanic replaced the passenger side drive shaft (axle) and it fixed both problems I had. Vibration while accelerating and the hissing sound in the cabin.

Weird. Either way this problem is now fixed.

There isn't anything in the axle that would cause a hissing sound. I still suspect you have an issue with something in the PS/R&P.

Keep an eye on it and like TexasHonda said, see if there are any bubbles in your PS reservoir.

argh it's back! Vibration is not there any more while accelerating but the hissing is back.

I may just live with it for the winter and take a look into it in the summer. I also have a problem with the driver side vents not getting heat and passenger side getting heat.

I bought a car with problems, meh got the car for cheap so not complaining.
