HID and high-beams?

HID and high-beams?
Ok, I just noticed this cleaning my car out from under about 2 inches of ice. After getting the door open, I started the car and let it run while I scraped all the windows. I also turned on the bright lights to see if it would help soften up the ice on the lenses. After doing the sides and back, I went to the front and noticed that BOTH high beams AND the HID'S were on. I didnt think that was possible. Is it because I had the car idling with the e-brake on, or did the extreme ice build up mess something up?
OH, and yes, it did soften up the lenses enough that I could use my hand to clear the ice off of them. But the car was running about 30 minutes just sitting there, lol. I know how some of you feel about that, hehe.
