Help with painting

Hey guys....i have a few minor scratches on my car...i have a tiny key mark that scratched the car, a scrape from the garage door coming down on my hood, and some long scratches on the side of my car from some sidewalks..

i am not going to spend tons of money at the dealer to fix my car back to perfect, so ive decided to do it myself....do you guys know of any threads or any do-it-yourself instruction manuals on how to repaint the car yourself? It would be much appreciated...

If you are not experienced in auto body repair/painting, you can make it worse by attempting to repaint the car yourself. Why don't you take a piece of scrap metal and put a similar scratch on it. Then try to repair the scratch and color match to your own car before doing it for real.

my friend has had experience with painting parts of his car....he touched up several spots on his g35 where it had been scratched.

I could possibly let him do it, but do any of you know any threads or do-it-yourself manuals out there? I would really like to take the time to read them and see what i can do for myself. Thanks, all inputs are welcome
