HELP I Dropped the nut Where I shift

Hey all I need help. I recently tried to place a nut where my 6 speed shift was, inside the leather. I managed to slide the nut that screws onto the shifter under the leather that covers my shifter without removing it (I just stretched the leather out a little bit). I was trying to screw the nut from inside the leather casing of my 6 speed when I dropped the nut. So now is stuck inside there. I was wondering if anyone knew of how to get inside there so that I can get the nut? Yes I know I'm an idiot.

Thanks, let me know if any of this is making sense

Remove the center area trim around the shifter (the housing with the cupholders and heated seat switches) and then you will be able to undo the leather boot and remove anything you may have dropped in there.

if you've never removed it, it'll be hard. Just take a hair dryer and heat up the trim above the clips, there will be 2 clips in front above the heated seat buttons, two on either side just behind the shifter, and two where it meets with the arm rest console area.

it is not glued on. all you have to do is pull on it at the edge where the heated seats switch is
