Heater idling problem

Hi all,

New lessee (takeover) of an '05 CGP w/ Navi.. I love the car but have just started noticing problems with the heater. When the heater gets going, warm air flows no problem, but as soon as I start idling, at a traffic light for example, the air cools down and cool air is blown out. It's getting a bit chilly here in Toronto, so I'm starting to get a bit worried.

Is this normal, or should I take it in to get fixed? Would putting it on Recirculate, instead of Auto make a diff?

Thanks in advance!

First thing I'd suspect is the coolant level is low, or there's an air pocket stuck in the cooling system. Also possible the water pump impeller is corroded out but that seems unlikely unless the car has really high mileage.
