Heated Seat Pinout? - Pass. High
2006 Acura TSX
Ok so recently i took out my center console to run some wires for my ipod.
When i rehooked it back up (i had to disconnect the heated seat switches) i noticed that "hi" on the passenger side no longer works. I played around with it and it worked very intermittently (the led would light) but now i cannot get it to work at all.
I am thinking its a poor contact? I tried plugging that switch into the wire that runs to the driver side switch and it had the same problem so i think the problem is in the actual switch.
I was giong to try cleaning up/bending the pins on the switch and see if that would help. Anyone know what pin goes where?
Or anyone have any other ideas?

in the 24th and a half...
Test seat...remove seat and check the 4P connector. You want continuity between 2 and 3 and 3 and 4...the pin out is ( / 2 3 4 ) on the terminal side of male connector.
Test switch...6P pinout is ( 1 2)
( 3 4 5 6)
Off, continuity between 1 and 2 only...On, High between 1 - 2, 3 - 4 - 5, 5 - 6...On, Low between 1 - 2, 3 - 5, 4 - 5
Test switch...6P pinout is ( 1 2)
( 3 4 5 6)
Off, continuity between 1 and 2 only...On, High between 1 - 2, 3 - 4 - 5, 5 - 6...On, Low between 1 - 2, 3 - 5, 4 - 5

1/2 should be shorted all the time.
on low you say 3-5 and 4-5, wouldn't this then mean 3-4 would also have continuity...i'm thinking maybe you meant 3-5 and 4-6
Actually i think i am misreading your notation; on High 1-2 should have continuity, 3-4-5 should have continuity and 5-6 should? Again wouldn't 3-6 have continuity too then...
Had no time last night but tonight i may just see what shorts on the working switch when in high position and see if i can find a problem in the pass side switch.
Anyone know roughly what a new switch costs? Might just make the pass suffer with low heat only lol

When you say the high setting no longer works do you mean just the indicator on the switch, or have you actually felt the seat to see if it gets warm? The little bulbs in the switch are notorious for failing, especially after being disturbed by the switch being removed/plugged/unplugged. The green/yellow wire at the switch should have +12V with the switch in the "High" position.

I was under the impression (just from a thought in my own head, not sure why i think this) that the weight sensor (like for 'passenger seat belt') had to detect weight to heat the seat.

The seat heater element gets warm whenever the switch is on, doesn't matter if someone is sitting in the seat. Keep in mind that on the passenger seat, only the cushion has a heating element. The seatback doesn't have a heating element because the S.R.S. occupant position detection grid takes it's place in the seatback foam.
