Turning the steering wheel until it stops to the left or right is not recommended unless the car is moving, and then even so to use it for a short period of time. What's going on is it's putting stress on the steering pump which can cause damage. Our power steering pump is located to the right side of the engine. Check your power steering fluid level. If it's too low, it will grind when you turn the steering wheel to full left or full right.

Yeah, definitely check the power steering fluid level (pass. side of engine near the mid/front). If it's low, top it up with Honda/Acura power steering fluid ONLY.

Have you had the power steering hose recall done? If not, have that done - they change the fluid in its entirety for you during the procedure.

Did the noise start shortly after the recall was done? If so... schedule time with the service department to look at it as it might be air in the PS lines, or debris, etc. You will have to be really professional with them as they will (often) try to say they're not responsible for it, but trust me, with some firm but professional wording, you can get them to at least inspect it and narrow down what the noise is and why it is happening.

The dealer I use told me they only replace the fluid if it is contaminated otherwise the just fill it.

Hrmm, I didn't know that! I figured they'd change it as removing the main hose would likely drain most of the fluid in there anyhow... guess not!

(I'm not eligible for the PS Hose recall here in Canada so I really just went on what I read/gathered here at AZine!).

you can probalby do the recall yourself. all it is is new hose and a rubber/silicone sleeve that runs over it and it's zipped tied to the hose
