I hope you have everything well documented. It's not too early to research your state's lemon laws details. From the attitude of that manager things are not looking too good.

Make sure you keep all your service receipts.

Keep a log of when and why you brought the car in and the turn around time for the dealer to make the fix.

You should have called him on that, to find out what other problems TSX's from that dealership are having.

Good luck. (Hopefully this MT problem is an isolated incident )

Well, I spoke with the dealership today (brought it in 4 days ago), and they said they found internal problems in the transmission and ordered some parts for replacement.

No further details, no further questions.

It's kind of funny because supposedly my transmission was in "top" condition 3 weeks ago(?) when they replaced the synchros, but discovered yet another internal problem, but it's okay, as long as it gets fixed and as long as I get my car back.

One more transmission problem, and I'll be looking into the lemon laws.

I'd get it looked at ASAP. Especially since you've had the gearbox opened by Acura.

In remote cases it sometimes can be a linkage problem....if you'd recently mucked around with the linkage lately (making it too short) can cause this to occur as well...
Yup, exactly as you said it. "Internal problems".

Keep us posted. I'd say that one more attempt could possibly put it under lemon status.

Update.

Last saturday, the dealership told me the parts would arrive by tuesday (7/20) and the car would be done and ready by thursday (7/22), but yesterday they said they haven't even received the parts yet.

iamhomin, who's driven his tsx for only 4 days since 6/24/04.

No, I'm actually going to find out when they're done with the car.

And get this, my loaner's center console, like my TSX, just blew on me.
I'm going in later today to get a different loaner.

Update:

One of the receptionist called me today to inform me that my car is done.

I asked to speak to the Service manager or the technician to find out exactly what was wrong with my transmission, but apparently both of them are on vacation, so I won't be able to speak to them until this coming Monday.

They did however give me a very subtle description to the work they did to my tranny..

"They had to take every piece apart and rebuild the transmissions. The bolts had to be replaced and they did heavy work".

I hope they did their best job, I would hate to lemon my car.

Anyways, thanks for all of your concerns, I'll keep you guys posted on exactly what was wrong with the tranny (if anyone's interested ).

iamhomin.

bet they made a mistake putting it back together last time that's why they're so slow to admit the problem.

Final update.

Just picked my car up from the dealership and I loved it.

Gear shifting was never so smoothe, downshifiting felt so much more responsive, and the car felt perfect. Anyways, here are the parts that they replaced in my transmission..

Case, Transmission
Collar Y
Bolt, Sealing Y (different sizes; special Y 20x25 Y etc.)
Oil Seal (different sizes)
Bearing
Ring, Snap
Case, clutch
Washer, Drain Y
Fluid, MT

All stated as "internal" problems.

They also did my alignment because it also had "internal" problems.

Anyways, thanks guys for your support, and out I go to drive my car.

iamhomin, who's excited about his car again.
