Fog light crack - DIY solution

I recalled somewhere a thread about cracked fog lights, often due to stones & chipping a crack on foggies. We have this issue too, apparently the foggie locations are a favourite high speed stone-target prone. So sorry for posting so late as been busy...

Here was my DIY solution, using a simple wired metal mesh. Cost is peanuts, but it works well for me. The idea is to prevent a stone direct hit at high speed, however, the foggies light up well enough.....extra bonus is I like the "fuzzy" look on the foggies...

Other stuff, pse have a look at Photo Gallery folder, under Red JDM Euro R for some other DIY solutions...cheers...

I think folks have already done this, and there's a thread about mesh over the lights. Also, many of us have used Lexan to cover the fogs as well.

The mesh does work but someone did report that theirs did crack, by a smaller piece which hit the glass.

Oem glass is strong but for conditions and roads that we have and harsh weather its just a recipe for it cracking.
