Ok, just got the call from the dealer. They said there is a 'kit' that they need to order from Acura, and it should come in next week. Sounds like it's a bunch of (wool/plastic?) spacers that separates the speaker mount and door panel from the window and stuff. Not exactly sure what it is. I'll see if I can look at the exact TSB that they printed out when I pick up the car.

I replaced all of my stock speakers. When you see how the stock speakers are held in place you will realize why they rattle. I dynomated the door and I dont have any problems. Between the cheap speaker mounts and the flapping plastic door liner, there are plenty sources for noise. I don't have any noise and my car falls in the affected vin numbers.

So, if I plan on pulling off the doors to further soundproof, is it a good bet I will get rid of my rattles? I really want to get rid of some of the road noise so if I can kill two birds with one stone, why not? Never like taking my car in for service.

TSB 04-024 For door rattles really works!

I just had the TSB fix done for both front doors on my car today. After testing all my CD's that would make the doors buzz, I have yet to hear the annoying rattle and buzz that has driven many of us crazy. If you have been plagued by this problem I definately recommend getting this fix next time you go to the dealer. Just let them know ahead of time so that they can order the kit they need to fix the problem.

When did they issue the TSB and what exactly does it entail doing to the car? I may take my TSX in sometime just so I can get a couple of niggling little details looked at.

Does anyone know if there has been one released for Canada?

Is this something that Acura/Honda head office will tell you if I call and ask?

Is there more info for this US TSB? Like a TSB # or something so that I can reference when I call?

why does it apply to only the first 16000 tsx's???? thats bullshit
my car is 800xxx and the are from 0000001 to 016871. and i have the exact problem described here. and want the exact procedure?
if i go into the dealership and they say i dont fit the number, then what. are they no longer responsible to help me?

I did get a fix already, the shoved material into the door that made the buzzing worse. and im going in tomorrow to get a seat fixed, body kit repositioned, and the doors checked out. the guy said hes going to take out the material if i have problems. but im going to take in the info from timeshock and get them to do that.

C-Man, you are 00xxx? so you are within the first 1000 cars delivered to Canada (canadian vins are different). I think the 8 in your VIN means something else. IF (and thats a big if) this TSB is for Canada as well, you should be included.

The TSB is definitely just for the US as t is for now. I was in for my scheduled maintenance yesterday and asked the dealer if they had a service bulletin in Canada, and all he found after searching was a little note of service dating back to april about a few things to watch for in case of rattle complaints and a whimsy little felt to add somewhere.

So... I guess we still have to wait a little in Canada. I will, however get the TSB printed out so he can see what it's all about, but until Acura Canada releases one for Canada, there's not much to expect from our dealers.

I GOT THE SO CALLED FIX DONE TO MY CAR!!!

took my car into acura this morning with a list of problems. they didnt do ANYTHING!!!! my fucking sheet that says problems and solutions has. "was no real problem" ticked off for 5 things!!!

anyways. i printed off the TSB and gave it to the guy. he said that is what is already done to my car.
it sounds worse than it used to, just to warn. NO HELP.
i spent an hour fighting with managers at Silverhill Acura. they stopped talking to me after a while. but i have a backseat that gets ripped out all the time (middle seat folding part). my doors rattle to shit even with no music now. and my new bodykit has gaps alll the way around my car, and its just a shity installation that they wont redo.
i need to find a power above the dealership to rant to, cuz the poeople here actually dismiss my problems by ignoring them.

well, we are getting conflicting stories here. Someones dealer is lying .. .either cmans or saucemans.

You gotta make it real easy for these guys to reproduce the rattles. What I do is i find a particular cd and song that makes it very noticable and specifically ask them to use that to test. Also with these types of problems its a very good idea to ask to speak with the mechanic and physically show him what you are hearing.

Absolutely.

I've had mine twice in for the rattles issues, and the second time, I took many minutes with the tech, showing him what CD track would bring out which rattle, and at what volume, bass, trebble setting, etc. I believe they honestly gave it a good effort at trying to solve the problems, and though they haven't completely solved it, they have reduced the amplitude of the rattles.

But that was before even the service note he showed me, and looking at the note, there wasn't anything the guys could do that they hadn't already done.

Thats BS. You can put the bass as high as you want. Time to find a new dealership.

was at the dealer today, and

took it to the dealer, showed them the problem.....my car isnt in the VIN range, but it definately has the rattle problem....the guy said that after the VIN cutoff, the fix should have been applied to the new cars....the buzzing/rattling seems to come from right around the area of the lock pin between the alumnium trim strip and the window. Is this where other people have the rattle as well? they told me they would take a look at the door when I bring the car back in 2 weeks to get something else done, but I have a feeling that they won't find anything. Does anyone else whose car falls after the VIN cutoff have the same issue?

Mine is after the VIN cutoff also. I am going to call my dealer and another one in the local area and see what they say. It is ridiculous they assigned a cutoff on the VIN's if everyone is having the same problems.
