Erratic Idling

I've had my 2005 TSX (55,000 KM) for 3 months now and have had no problems. Until now I was making a right turn came up to hill at an intersection and the car started to idle erratically up to 2500 rpm and the down to about 800 rpm and it keep doing it wouldn’t stop. I put it in neutral revved the engine. It still continued…so I pulled over turned the engine off. Started the engine and everything was fine, but the check engine light and the VSA light was on and is still on. Then the VSA light went off but he Check engine light is still on…..I drove it home pulled into the driveway and the oil light went on for a split second? I checked the oil and it was about a liter low. I topped the oil back up…..It seems to run ok but the CE light is still on. Kind of strange?

Anyone with suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try asking your local auto parts store to see if they can pull the code for the CEL. They usually would do it for free. The code should give you an idea of what went wrong.

Get the CEL code pulled and post it up. That should give us a better idea of what went wrong and how to fix it. Or at least a better starting point.

Definitely keep the appointment. If nothing else, codes that will light the light will be stored in the computer for at least 50 key cycles.

On a side note, most auto parts stores will check the codes for free. You just have to ask at the parts counter.

Took it in for a scan and nothing showed up....there was a old code stored in the computer it said somthing about the camshaft seized.

I don't think that is right? I checked with the dealer and no such work was done on the car. The car is still under warranty. Strange!
