Engine Malfunctoin Light & Immobilizer warning light

After recently installing a remote-start Compustar alarm, my engine malfunction light and the immoblizer light came on (key symbol). I went to the dealer and he told me that the remote-start feature causes the lights to come on. They won't look into the problem unless I have the alarm system removed.

Does anyone have a compustar remote-start alarm on their 2004 AT acura tsx?

Does it conflict with the immobilizer? Does the remote-start feature bypass the purpose of having an immobilizer?

HELP!!!!

from what my compustar dealer told me, they do have to bypass the immobilizer. they actually take a car key from you, and bury it somewhere in wiring, to get past this. i didnt get the system put into my tsx because its very expensive with the immobilizer bypass, and because its a MT.

yea they take a key and hide it in the paneling of the car so it can communicate with the remote. the alarm was installed, but when the battery was connected we noticed that the warning lights came on. The alarm was working properly, however im not sure what caused the malfunction light to come on and it doesn't go away. Anyway, the alarm was removed and i have to go back to the dealer to get it checked out again. i doubt anything was damaged, but something triggered the lights to go on. im just hoping its clear and when i try to install it again it wont happen. If anyone has the compustar model on their TSX please respond telling me if it works ok. I have experience with compustar on several model cars and there has never been a problem.

the TSX may be too sophisticated for a remote-start alarm.

I've been told by the dealer that my "pc margin" was shorted. It has something to do with starting the car I believe. Does anyone know what that is, or anything about that for that matter? All I know is that Acura wants $950 for part & labor included.

My dealer told me the keys have some sort of chip in it to deactivate the engine imbolizer device. The manual said to keep the Acura key seperate from other keys and recommend a plactic key fob instead of a metal one.

Friend of mine had a 2000 Maxima with the chip keys and one day the car wouldn't start and he had to have it towed to the dealer. After a day at the dealer it turned out that the chip in the key went bad.
