Engine don't rev as smooth as new.

My SSM/6MT has around 2.3K miles on it so far. And I noticed the engine does not rev as smoothly as it is when new. I had autocrossed it once, and the weather here in south Texas is just plain hot. Do you guys think an oil change will make things better?

8k miles on mine and it revs just as easily and smoothly as the day I drove it off the lot. I'm about to head in for my 2nd oil change before this weekend's trip.

How does the oil look? I had my first oil change and I defnitely feel that it made a difference in the tone of the engine(it got a little quieter) but I never noticed a difference in terms of performance or smoothness. I say take it in and see what they reccomend when you get a chance.

I have about the same miles as yours and am also in South Texas. I think my car is reving easier now than new. The heat could be a factor, but depending on where you are at, your air filter could also be getting dirty and choking off air flow. I'd check into that first.

Mine revs smoother than it used to. Of course, that was after the Mobil 1 oil change at 5000 miles.

Thanks guys. I've decided to change my oil (mineral base 'till 5K milkes) this friday, and put K&N filter on it. I will report back.
