Drivers window does not go down at times...

Hello,

I just purchased a used 04 tsx with 86000 km's on it and it seems I am having an issue with my drivers side power window. At times when I try to open the window by hitting the drivers side window switch the window doesnt go down. After about five seconds when I push the button again the window works with no issues. This usually happens about 10 times in a day. If anyone has had the same issue please feel free to chime in. Thanks

Frank

I had a similar issue. My auto down feature wouldn't work sometimes. It would go down all the way and come back up half way. I took it to the dealer, and it was determined to be a faulty window switch. It was reset first and replaced later

Thanks thirdlane. It could definatley be a faulty switch. What happens is, I hear a click noise, I attempt to put the window down, and it doesnt work. Five seconds later the window will work fine. Its really annoying. I wonder if it could be something else associated with the power window mechanism.

Its either going 2 b the switch or the motor. If u know how 2 use a test light then ur good 2 go, but if not then take it in somewhere.

Most likely the switch. If it was the motor, then it wouldn't work at all

Yes, the click noise, I had this on my 04. This is how it happened for me. I'd hit the up or down, and then it was like it did not recognize that I had let go of it. So even though I was not touching it, it was still behaving as though I was pressing it. If this happens for long enough, the click sound is the thing being overridden and turned off and temporarily locked out. So for the next 30 seconds or so, you cannot do anything with that window.

They replaced the switch and it's been fine since.

It only continues to click when the window is up all the way, not when down. But according to your feedback it sounds you were having the same issues as I am. I am even more convinced that it is the switch. Considering I just bought this car from Acura which is certified I hope they cover this. If not, how much does it cost to replace the switch? Thanks everyone.
