Question Driver Unknown Customization Not Possible

I just got an 06 TSX CGP AT a week ago...loving everything about it ...well except for one problem.

I've followed the instructions in the manual but cannot get the driver customization features to work.

The wierd part about it is, the seat customizations work fine! When I unlock the car with key fob 1, driver 1 lights up and it remembers the seat position. However when I try to program the other customizations (lights etc) doing exactly what the manual states, I keep getting the message in the MID, Driver Unknown Customization not possible.

According to the manual, that's supposed to happen only when you use the key to open the car.....something that I've never done! Is anyone else having the same problem? I searched the forum, found nothing!

ur key isn't linked up. I think ur dealer forgot to set it linked. I had the same problem. The position 1 memory is lite up probably because u haven't moved the seat since then. Just press the unlock and lock button on ur fob and a light will come on and flash i think, i forget. It'll link up. Your car has to say Welcome Driver 1 or Welcome Driver 2 on the MID when u start the car for it to be linked.

You need to lock your doors and exit your car. Once you're out, unlock your car with the new/unprogrammed fob - not the key. Open the door and enter, close the door. Put the key in the ignition and go to position II. Once there you should be able to start programming.

Think "basic" vs. "enhanced" keyfob. . .

I just had this programing issue tonight! It's with the keyfob. The keyfob is basically set as a "basic" keyfob. Use the instructions here to make it "enhanced".

On the keyfob, press the lock and unlock buttons on the keyfob simultanously. To basically turn off customization settings, the remote LED blinks twice. To link it back to the settings so that you can access the personalization menu(s), press the lock and unlock again and get one LED blink. I think it's page 149? **going by memory here, where it discusses the keyfob**.

The instructions are all inter-related and each subtopic supports other features which makes it time-consuming that all these tasks are scattered throughout the booklet.

This worked for me and resolved the issue. I guess the dealer forgot to link the key FOBs. Thanks TSXnOPKS, you saved me a trip to the dealer!
