Dreaded P0341 - Stretched Timing Chain?
My brother bought an 2004 which seemed to be in good shape. He drove it for sometime before we realized the CEL was actually ON. The previous owner unscrupulously had taken apart the instrument cluster and used permanent marker to "black out" the CEL. Really BS. The engine is smooth but is weak on power and returns relatively poor fuel mileage. I don't think VTEC engages, but I also don't think it's skipped a tooth.
Upon scanning it, we got the dreaded P0341 code. If it is indeed the timing chain. Can someone outline the full parts list that is necessary for the repair. We've got the mechanic, just need the parts.
Thanks in advance.
