Hi everyone

I've had my '04 Accord Euro S (Acura TSX) for four weeks now and am noticing a "problem" with the cruise control.

I am cruising at a steady speed, say 70 km/h, in 4th gear, and turn on the CRUISE MAIN button, but the ACCEL / SET button will not set. Then if I shift up to 5th gear, and press ACCEL / SET it WILL then engage.

This problem then will not repeat itself until the car has been turned off and then on again.

I have searched all over this forum, and google, to find if the Euro (TSX) has a minimum speed / rev speed for each gear under which it won't engage the cruise, but all I can establish is that the owner's manual says it won't work under 40km/h. My dealer was equally as unhelpful.

Help! Any thoughts? Does anyone else experience this same problem?

Haven't seen that problem at all. But seriously, why would you be using the cruise control at 70 km/h?

 

We have some very prohibitive speed limits here in New Zealand. It's not at all uncommon to have long stretches of road limited to 70 or 80 km/h...
