Add another one to the list... just started earlier this week when temps started dipping down into the 30s around here. Basically sounds like a rattle, or creaking noise from the edges of the windows. It almost makes me a little nervous that the whole thing's going to pop out at any time!

Add another to the list. Definitely has to do with temp. - this is the only problem we have encountered so far and it is really grinding me. thanks for the tip kcf7z! - I'll try a temporary shim to reduce the noise until I can take it to the dealer.

back from the dead, but I have the same issue. I had the creak back in april, but went away once the temp got over 55, but now for fall its back again.

I have the same noise also on colder mornings. I asked the service guy and he said it was the dash rubbing against the windshield. He had no fix other than to tell me to put the defrost on to heat up the area.

I originally posted on a different thread, but I, too noticed a "rice crispies" sound from the windshield when the temperature gets below 50 degrees.

Does this problem exist in cars recently produced (May and June, 2004)?

I have the windshield rattle (haven't noticed a difference depending on temperature) and mine was built in June 2004. I'm taking it to the dealer this week.

Bought my TSX in July and I have this weird creak, too! I didn't think it was coming form the windshield since it sounds more like the creaking is coming from the front part of the passenger's dash...

But it IS coming from the area close to the windshield, so maybe it IS the windshield! Hmmm...

Anyone get the dealer to fix this? It's driving me nuts. Sounds like hail is hitting my windshield in the mornings.

That IS what it sounds like!! I have a service appointment this Friday, I'll let you know if they fix anything. Somehow I doubt it.

The weather is still nice and warm here in Cali, but I'm dreading the cold-weather noises since I've come to peaceful terms with the warm-weather ones.

Anyway, I believe I've diagnosed one noise that I hear occasionally when going over certain bumps. The top portion of the area covering the clock (non-navi model) makes a creaking sound if you push or pull on it. It doesn't happen very often, but I suppose I could stick some weatherstripping tape in there if it starts bugging me too much. Anyway, thought this might help somebody

Ok this Saturday I'm going for my new car clinic and now i have 4 issues to talk to them about:

1. creaking front windshield (just got it the other day, getting cold in Chicago now)
2. buzzing on driver's side door when radio with bass is up (Peter Gabriel songs especially)
3. Tail light recall (not yet a problem)
4. Front HID assembly possible leak into housing (not yet a problem)

The noise started when temp <60 F here in northeast US.

Don't know about noises elsewhere but I have the noise coming from the base of the windshield too! Someone in this forum suggested looking at the plastic piece outside of the windshield, beneath the wiper blades... I took a second listen and I was starting to believe... Opened the hood and wiggled the piece a bit and the noise went away!!! Took less than 30 seconds Try it and let me know how it works, just hope it lasts, otherwise I would have to spend another 30 seconds looking at what's under the hood.

I guess the plastic needed to settle and I did not want to risk the dealer tearing apart my interior just to make it worse.

'90 vfr750 (speedy)
'92 accord EX (for sale)
'02 RSX-S (xenon depot hid, fujitsubo cat-back, injen cai, revo shifter)
'04 TSX (comptech shifter - 6MT)

next: honda cbr1000rr (hope my wife would let me)

Mine seems to be coming near the top. Kinda near the mirror, but even towards the headliner. I will try the plastic thing though. Thanks.

It's getting cold in Toronto and i just noticed clicking sound as well (I picked up my baby in August). It's driving me nuts. I first noticed in the morning. In the afternoon (after it warmed up a little) the sound was less noticeable. But the same day while driving at night it was back. It sounded like it's coming from the front windshield near the rear view mirror...but after adjusting things and holding it down, it didn't help.

Has anyone found out what the cause is or where the sound is coming from? Any response from Acura yet?

Any help/input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Acura of Denville. That's where I bought it, though I'm not sure how their service will be. Somehow I doubt they are going to fix it. THanks to trsx226 about the plastic piece on the exterior, I'll check it out.

BTW I just got a recall notice in the mail, something about a wiring harness in the trunk. It didn't sound too serious but I guess I'll have them look at it too.

the noise is very misleading as I thought it was coming from the top, but it went away after I jiggled the plastic piece at the base of the windshield (outside)... Weird...

Tried the plastic thing, no luck . It is coming between under the rear view mirror to around the sunglasses holder. It's going in tomorrow to the dealer to be fixed. I don't like to complain too much because I love the car, but the noise is really bad.

Squeek.

God I hate that sound.

I have an appointment scheduled on the 21st for the Tail light recall and speaker buzz. I'll make sure I mention the squeeking sounds and the little magical rattle that appears and dissappears from a day-to-day basis on the passenger side of my car.

So I took it in this morning, however today is the first day it is raining since the windshield noise started. Guess what...no noise this morning. Acura will look at it, but he thinks that it sounds like a molding issue (since maybe the rain stopped the noise). He will apply silicone to the seals. We will see. We had a nice conversation, he basically said that if it wasn't for the rattles, he would never get a TSX in the service department.

I took mine in today for the windshield rattle, and the guy tells me he knows exactly what the problem is (apparently others have been in for the same thing). Unfortunately they were really busy and I didn't get a chance to get more information. All I know is that it was a molding readjustment. Time will tell if they really fixed it. While there they also took care of the wire harness in the trunk (it was a recall). Overall it took about an hour, and they even washed my car (which happened to be filthy at the time)! Plus I took a ride in the new RL while I was waiting. Sweet! Much props to Ac of Denville.

Are the dealers keeping which molding it is a secret or did they tell you which one it is?

I think i found which one it is, i put a temp shim in it and it seemed to stop the creeking noise. If someone wants to host a pic of what it is, i will email them one.

I've been back and forth to the dealer for the last 3 weeks about the windshield noises. I thought they had it fixed last time. What they did was pulled the windshield out and replaced the seal around the windshield. I thought the noise was gone, but no it is stll there. but not as loud! It is going back to the shop today. I'm not stopping until I get this fixed. I can't stand that noise it is driving me crazy

If you open the hood and look on the passanger side along the fire wall. Its the black plastic piece that runs along the width of the windshield with the weatherstrip on it. Mine moved up and down and when I wedged something under it(between the plastic and the strut tower), the "creaking" noise has stopped.

Instead of shim, I just pulled and pushed on the same piece with a firm tug and the noise has been gone for over a week now and its <50 F everyday in the north... even over very bumpy roads. I would write to honda and have honda officially issue a tsb before letting the dealer disassemble anything... Even with dealers, whenever something is taken apart, it loses its integrity... such as the dashboard, windshield, etc... I used to work in the industry and most dealer mechanics are not any better than any other mechanics...
In fact, the last acura dealer I went to tried to con me $1500 on working on my rsx-s, which I ended up fixing myself, spent $0 and took 5 minutes with my wife's help, and then the mechanic had the nerve to ask me to teach him how I did it!
