Confused Navi

Every week, out of blue sky, my Navi loses its reference position.
I have to go to Set Up, and reset its position.
I eliminated the following factors:
1. bad weather,
2. rear window tinting,
3. UFOs.
Any suggestion is appreciated.

Dizzy Navi

I live in Southern California, no trees canopies above the road.
Thanks for the message,

Sounds like your nav is definitely malfunctioning. I'm in socal and my nav has never done what yours is doing, and I have had my tsx for a year.

You said you eliminated window tint as a problem....is your rear deck window tinted? Also, make sure you don't have anything covering the GPS unit on the rear deck.

Otherwise, it's back to the dealer

My navi has been off a few times. I live out in the sticks and it leaves crumbs like 20' parrallel to the street that I drove on. It is covered by heay trees. The display is acurate at the time, but the crumbs are left in the wrong place.

scratched dvd

My system was off a few weeks back. I'd reset position almost daily. I found a scratch on the dvd...

no idea what caused it, but a new dvd solved the prob. That may be your problem, but I hope not....it's an expensive fix (~$200).

you might wanna check. good luck.

speaking of the nav. Does it work well in long tunnel? Do you lose the signal until you come out of it? As well as when you're under a double decker bridge, does it still give you a way point?

yes it is still dead acurate in long tunnels or even in a parking deck, for me at least. i believe that navi moniters speed and had a gyro for orientation to reference in case of full loss of satellite signal. for example, when going through the holland or lincoln tunnel my nav has always functioned like it never even lost communication from above, even though the setup screen shows zero satellites connected.
