Comptech S/C bypass valve issues
Comptech S/C bypass valve issues
For those of you with the original Comptech S/C kit. I'm having issues with the bypass valve not closing/opening completely. Found this out when strange whistling noise came from the engine bay. Located the source at the bypass valve.
Assuming during idle and normal driving the valve is open; so it looks like the valve is not opening all the way and looks like there is some rust formations on some of the linkage associated with the bypass valve and looking into the valve I can also see something that looks like rust..
Wondering if anyone knows if this part is serviceable or replaceable?

What up Kenny! Glad to see some of the O.G.'s still up in here!
Glad to hear the part is replaceable. Is it updated with a better design so this issue doesn't happen or is it the same?
I'm close to 70,000miles on the s/c unit itself; starting to hear some noises from the unit like the impellers inside are touching each other but once it gets up to operating temp the noises go away...wondering if this is the beginning of the end for this unit.
