codes p1009 and 83-1

Hi, still trying to figure out how to fix these 2 codes, and im stumped. got rid of 84-1 by doing the neutral rememorization, but still stuck with these 2 codes.

for p1009, the oil has been changed, vtec solenoid has been replaced, and cleaned out, but code still remains. Also says check emissions with this code.

for 83-1, im not sure, when it throws this code, vtec doesn't engage, and the car has a surging idle like a bad iacv.

any help would be appreciated

thanks,
Donnie

btw, code p1009 is camshaft position is stuck at advance position, and 83-1 is ecm/pcm relation malfunction

Have the same exact problem, manual says to switch out the vsa modulator control unit to fix the 83-1 code. Looks likes it's gonna be pricey. Has anything else worked for you yet?

2006 Acura TSX 6MT with 341,xxx km. This car has been regularly serviced by the dealer, but I check the oil often because it has used 2L of oil every 8,000km for the past 150,000 km. About 100,000 km ago, I noticed that about 500 - 700 km after an oil change the engine oil became completely black. I suggested the dealer flush the engine, but they said no, and I should just have the oil changed/add more oil as required or scheduled.

I decided to change the oil myself, and try Kleen-Flo Engine Flush after the engine threw a CEL (P1009), which my shop manual said was a VTEC problem likely triggered by a dirty oil screen. I cleared the code, and followed the bottle's directions, but waited for every drop that would fall to drip out. My manual says that if the code doesn't reappear, it's a random event, so ignore it. But what I have seen is that after 2,000 km of use, the engine oil is just now starting to turn darker.I know that oil is supposed to collect dirt, but hopefully not that much, or so fast. The Internet tells me that flushing an engine that does not have frequent oil changes may be a mistake, but that's not the way I treat this car, and thought it was worth a try. My conclusion is that there was an accumulation of things I probably really didn't want in the engine, and they are [mostly - hey, that's a lot of mileage!] gone.
